About The Role
We are seeking an experienced DevOps / Cloud Engineer specializing in Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code to join our dynamic IT team.
In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, deploying, and maintaining high-availability cloud services within our STACKIT Kubernetes environment.
Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of our ServiceNow Shared Services, including AI Search, Machine Learning, and Document Intelligence platforms.
You will be responsible for automating infrastructure deployment, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and implementing robust security measures to uphold our high standards of operational excellence and compliance.
Working within an agile team, you will translate complex technical requirements into scalable and secure cloud architectures, contributing to the continuous improvement of our cloud infrastructure and service offerings.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a successful degree in (Business) Informatics or a comparable technical IT qualification, complemented by extensive professional experience in cloud-native and Kubernetes environments.
You should possess in-depth knowledge of managing complex Kubernetes deployments in enterprise scenarios and have a strong understanding of microservices architecture, especially how it integrates with traditional, database-centric enterprise applications like ServiceNow.
Practical experience with automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible, as well as building modern CI/CD pipelines with GitLab, is essential.
You should be familiar with security hardening techniques for Kubernetes clusters, including Pod Security Policies and Network Policies, and have a good grasp of compliance standards such as BSI C5 and DORA.
Excellent communication skills in German and good English proficiency are required, along with a quick learning ability, a solution-oriented mindset, and the ability to work independently within a team.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include designing and operating highly available services on the STACKIT Kubernetes cluster, which serve as the performance-driven runtime environment for our ServiceNow Shared Services.
You will optimize and maintain our CI/CD landscape, leveraging tools like GitLab, Terraform, Ansible, and Helm to automate container workloads efficiently.
Ensuring seamless network integration between Kubernetes-based microservices, Java-based ServiceNow applications, and load balancer clusters will be a key part of your role.
Additionally, you will implement auto-scaling strategies and observability solutions to maintain the highest levels of stability and SLA compliance within our Sovereign Cloud environment.
You will also be responsible for security hardening of clusters, enforcing policies to protect against vulnerabilities, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
As part of an agile team, you will translate technical requirements into standardized, scalable cloud architectures, constantly seeking improvements in operational efficiency and security.
