Senior .NET API / Backend Developer

Senior .NET API / Back-End Developer within payments, financial services, or banking environments Contract Length: 3-month contract with a strong likelihood of long-term renewal Work Location: Canada (Remote) Work Time Zone: Pacific Time (PT) Minimum travel is expected once 1 - 2 days every 1-2 months and is client funded. We are seeking a Senior .NET API / Back-End Developer to support a high-profile engagement. This opportunity supports an approved project with strong potential for long-term extension and future growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise-scale backend services, APIs, business rules, batch processing solutions, and reconciliation functionality within a complex and highly integrated environment. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Design, develop, and maintain scalable .NET backend applications and APIs • Build and support RESTful services and enterprise integrations • Develop and maintain business rules and application logic • Design and optimize batch processing jobs and workflows • Create and support reconciliation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather and refine requirements • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve production issues • Participate in code reviews and contribute to development best practices • Support application modernization and continuous improvement initiatives • Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and security requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • 7+ years of experience developing applications using C# and .NET technologies • Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs • Experience building scalable back-end services and distributed systems • Experience with batch processing, data synchronization, and reconciliation solutions • Strong SQL and database experience • Experience working within enterprise-level environments • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills • Ability to work independently in a remote environment TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS • C# • .NET / .NET Core • REST APIs • Microservices Architecture • SQL Server or similar relational databases • Backend Service Development • Batch Processing • Data Reconciliation • Enterprise Application Integrations • Git / Source Control • CI/CD Practices NICE TO HAVE • Experience within payments, financial services, or banking environments • Experience supporting credit card or similar payment processing platforms • Cloud experience (Azure preferred) • Experience with containerization technologies • Experience working within Agile delivery teams
