Join our European Data & Analytics HUB! – we are growing! This strategic initiative is created to enable the change of Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) to a data-driven company. Our goal is to empower all VWFS business units to use data effectively, efficiently and compliantly in their business decisions. D&A originally has been set up as central HQ function located in Germany. To strengthen D&A’s international profile and to cope with the increasing demand for D&A’s services, the European D&A Hub has recently been established in Warsaw, Poland. The teams in both locations work closely aligned to deliver outstanding data products and services for international data use cases at VWFS group. As part of the Data Foundation, you will join the Vehicle Data API Team (VDA), responsible for a central API platform that provides vehicle data across the entire Volkswagen Financial Services Group. In this role, you will contribute to the development and operation of modern cloud-based services, helping to ensure that vehicle data is reliable, accessible, and of high quality for consumers across the organization. Main tasks: Develop and maintain APIs and microservices that support the Vehicle Data platformSupport the operation and continuous improvement of production services and data productsBuild and enhance data ingestion and processing pipelinesImplement automated data quality checks and monitoring mechanismsParticipate in incident resolution, troubleshooting, and operational support activitiesCollaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutionsHelp ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of data products in productionContribute to CI/CD automation, testing, and deployment processesSupport the continuous improvement of engineering practices and Agile ways of workingParticipate in an on-call rotation when required (up to 12 days per year) Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related fieldAt least 2 years of professional experience in software engineering, backend development, or data engineeringHands-on experience with Python developmentExperience building or maintaining APIs and microservicesExperience working with AWS cloud servicesFamiliarity with ETL/ELT processes and data pipelinesUnderstanding of relational databases, data modeling, and schema design (MySQL is a plus)Experience with CI/CD tools, version control systems, and automated testing practicesFamiliarity with monitoring and observability solutions such as DatadogExperience working with structured and semi-structured data formats, including JSON and ParquetKnowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and cloud orchestration platforms Basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools (preferably Terraform)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively within a teamGood communication, documentation, and knowledge-sharing skillsCustomer-oriented mindset and willingness to work closely with internal stakeholdersProfessional English and Polish language skills (C1) Nice to have: Experience or strong interest in the automotive, mobility, connected vehicle, or telematics domainFamiliarity with vehicle data platforms or data integration projectsExperience working in Agile teams using Jira and related toolsKnowledge of SAFe or other scaled Agile frameworksExposure to cloud-native architectures and modern software engineering practices We offer: Employment contract - the only optionHybrid work model (3 days a week from the office) and a very good office location (Rondo ONZ 1)Medical package (full specialist package with dentistry)Health AcademyMulticafeteria - everyone will find something for themselves ☺Lunch cardLife insuranceEmployee Pension ProgramCompany products and services at a special priceInteresting trainingsStudy fundingOnline language classes (English/German)
