Position Overview
Our focus is simple but meaningful, from our distribution centers to our stores and our offices — every employee of C&S/SpartanNash and their family of companies works to help feed local families, neighbors, and communities.
As an Intern you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the wholesale grocery industry, contribute to meaningful projects, and better understand what goes into running one of the largest privately held companies in the US.

Responsibilities
Assist in daily operations and administrative tasks within the assigned department.Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and other documentation.Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency.Attend meetings, take notes, and contribute ideas and insights.Aid in further enhancing department tools, templates and methodologiesGain exposure and knowledge on department functionalitiesDevelop positive professional relationships across departmentsComplete special projects as assigned by your managerComplete an end-of-internship presentation to showcase the completion of learning objectivesSupport the delivery of digital commerce initiatives across web, mobile, digital loyalty, and marketing technology platforms.Assist with requirements gathering, documentation, user story creation, and solution design activities.Participate in testing activities, including test case creation, execution, defect tracking, and validation of enhancements.Develop, modify, or troubleshoot application components using modern technologies such as ReactJS, React Native, Node.js, APIs, and GCP services.Collaborate with cross-functional teams through agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.Assist with application monitoring, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.Support ecommerce and digital marketing projects focused on improving customer experience and business performance.Contribute to automation, reporting, and operational processes that improve team efficiency.Participate in innovation initiatives and emerging technology exploration related to digital commerce and as a part of your capstone project.

We’re Searching For Interns That Are
Are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program from an accredited college or universityWill have completed their Sophomore year by the start of the internship.In good academic standing, with a preferred minimum GPA of 3.0Currently majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Administration (Technology or Digital Business focus), Marketing (Digital Marketing, or Food Marketing with Marketing Technology focus)Development experience preferred (React, React Native, Typespec, Node, APIs, Github Copilot)Interest in ecommerce, digital products, and retail customer experienceProficient with Google’s suite of products preferredHave proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingDemonstrate strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.Able to work both independently and collaborativelyAre organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple prioritiesBring curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn and contribute
