Data Engineer 6 Month Contract Sydney We are working with a FinTech who are expanding their operations and going through an exciting growth stage. Love owning reporting from the first business question to the finished dashboard? This contract is for an engineer who wants to build reporting that leaders actually use, not just move data around. The role You'll take reporting needs from the business and deliver them end to end. That means bringing data into an AWS-based warehouse, modelling it in dbt and SQL, defining and controlling it so the numbers can be trusted, and presenting the finished Power BI reports to stakeholders. What you'll be doing Turning business questions into clear data and technical requirementsBuilding ingestion and dbt models on Amazon RedshiftSetting data definitions, quality rules and controlsValidating and reconciling data before it reaches the businessBuilding Power BI reports and walking stakeholders through themReleasing changes through GitHub with solid change practices What you'll bring 4+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering or similarStrong SQL and commercial dbt experienceAWS data experience, ideally RedshiftPower BI modelling and report developmentC# or .NET development experienceGitHub, CI/CD and release managementExperience in financial or management reportingEnergy, curiosity, and the confidence to present your work
