About The Role Vantor has an exciting opportunity for a Backend Developer within our Intelligence sector, dedicated to advancing national security through innovative technology solutions. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining robust software applications and APIs that support our mission-critical operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for staying abreast of rapidly evolving technological advancements and leveraging their expertise within a highly collaborative team environment. The Backend Developer will play a pivotal role in creating scalable, secure, and efficient backend systems that enable our clients to make informed decisions based on spatial and intelligence data. This position requires an active U.S. Government security clearance at the TS/SCI level with CI Polygraph, and candidates must be U.S. Citizens to be eligible. Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a combination of education, experience, and technical skills, including: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.An active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph.Proficiency in Java and/or Python programming languages, including frameworks such as Spring Boot, Flask, or Django.Strong understanding of API architectural styles like REST, GraphQL, and SOAP, with experience using API development tools such as Postman and Swagger UI.Experience working with various database systems, including SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB).Familiarity with version control systems like Git.Knowledge of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and Scrum.Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Responsibilities Software Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and reliable applications and APIs using Java and Python, ensuring clean, efficient, and well-documented code.API Design and Integration: Create and implement RESTful APIs and microservices, ensuring secure and optimized communication between systems. Integrate third-party APIs and services as needed.Database Management: Manage and optimize data storage and retrieval across various database systems, ensuring data integrity and security.Collaboration: Work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and QA teams to define requirements, develop solutions, and ensure seamless system integration.Performance Optimization and Security: Monitor and enhance system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement security best practices to protect sensitive data and APIs.Cloud Integration (Optional): Implement cloud services and APIs to support cloud-native solutions, leveraging platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing applications, addressing bugs, implementing enhancements, and ensuring system reliability.
