Hi #Connections We are looking for a highly motivated, 🔷Position: Backend Developer 🏠 Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite) 🔷ABOUT THE ROLE Job Description: Engineering and Architecture •Design, build, and maintain backend financial and payments systems flows (e.g., core banking, ACH, wire, card, and digital asset transaction processing). •Influence software architecture and lead design decisions for the Platform, with particular focus on payments and money-movement systems. •Develop, test, and launch new features and releases for the Platform. •Document processes and key data flows •Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support audit certification efforts, including documenting systems for regulatory and internal audit purposes. Product & Requirements Enablement •Partner with engineering, product, operations, and compliance teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements and specifications. •Organize and decompose business requirements into well-structured functional and technical specs that other engineers can execute against. •Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and the engineering team, clarifying scope, surfacing technical trade-offs, and reducing ambiguity before development begins. •Document and improve engineering processes, workflows, and SDLC practices to increase team efficiency and knowledge sharing. Leadership & Team Enablement •Set technical direction and best practices that enable other engineers to deliver high-quality work independently. •Influence and align cross-functional partners and engineering peers without relying on formal authority or direct reports. •As needed mentor engineers on logic, code quality, and requirements-writing practices. •Make independent, sound decisions on system design and process improvements within defined parameters.
