For more information, follow Telesat on X and LinkedIn or visit www.telesat.com As a Senior NMS Software Developer, you will lead the design, development, and evolution of Lightspeed's Network Management and OSS platforms, enabling service fulfillment, assurance, automation, and observability across a carrier-grade LEO satellite network. You will leverage modern software engineering practices, cloud-native technologies, and AI-assisted development tools. Key Responsibilities Design and develop NMS/OSS applications supporting service fulfillment, assurance, inventory, fault, performance, and configuration management. Develop model-driven management solutions using YANG, NETCONF/RESTCONF, gNMI, gRPC, and related standards. Build network automation, telemetry, monitoring, and workflow orchestration capabilities. Integrate NMS/OSS platforms with network elements, EMS systems, inventory platforms, service orchestration systems, and operational tools. Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex software and network issues in large-scale distributed environments. Design and maintain automated test frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native deployment solutions. Contribute to system architecture, interface definitions, security standards, and CONOPS. Utilize AI-assisted development tools and engineering automation solutions to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery velocity. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of experience developing OSS, NMS, EMS, network automation, or telecommunications management systems. Expert-level software development skills with a proven track record delivering large-scale production systems using Go, Python, Java, or similar languages. Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, concurrency, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. Solid knowledge of NETCONF, RESTCONF, gRPC, YANG, OpenAPI, and API-driven architectures. Strong understanding of segment routing, and network telemetry. Experience with Kubernetes, containers, cloud-native architectures, DevOps, and CI/CD. Proven experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or equivalent Ideal Candidate Combines OSS/NMS expertise, carrier-grade networking knowledge, strong software engineering and system design skills, cloud-native development experience, and the ability to leverage AI-assisted development to deliver innovative operational solutions The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain Reliability Status.
