Description

LeisurePay builds payment processing technology used by merchants every day. We're looking for a part-time Database Administrator to own the health, performance, and reliability of our Azure SQL environment and to work directly with our development team on a .NET Entity Framework codebase. What you'll do Administer and maintain our production Azure SQL databases, including backups, security, and access controlWrite, review, and optimize T-SQL, including stored procedures, views, and complex queriesMonitor performance, tune queries, and manage indexing strategyWork with developers to review Entity Framework–generated queries, migrations, and data models before they reach productionSupport schema changes, data migrations, and release planningDocument database work clearly and report on database status to the team Minimum requirements Strong T-SQL skillsHands-on experience administering Azure SQLExperience working with developers on a .NET / Entity Framework system, including understanding how EF shapes the queries it sends to the database Nice to have Experience in payments, fintech, or other high-volume transactional systemsFamiliarity with PCI DSS or other compliance requirements around sensitive dataExperience with query performance tools such as Query Store and execution plansExperience with archiving, purging, or partitioning large transaction tablesExperience writing and managing DDL scripts in Visual Studio or VS Code, such as SQL Server Database Projects, with interest in taking on schema change management over time Work location requirement: This position is not available to candidates who will perform their work from California or New York.
