Senior Quantity Surveyor | Electrical Infrastructure / EV Charging | Doncaster | £65k–£75k + Package Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor – Electrical Infrastructure Location: Doncaster / South Yorkshire – Hybrid Salary: £65,000–£75,000 Car Allowance: £6,000 per annum Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Company Overview Our client is a rapidly growing electrical infrastructure business delivering complex projects across the UK. Operating across EV charging, grid connections, HV works, civils and electrical infrastructure, the business provides an end-to-end service from initial design and development through to construction, installation and commissioning. With a strong pipeline of projects and continued growth across the UK, they are looking to strengthen their commercial function with the appointment of a Senior Quantity Surveyor. The Role The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take commercial responsibility across a portfolio of electrical infrastructure projects, managing projects from tender and pre-construction through delivery and final account. Working closely with Project Managers, Estimating, Operations, Finance and senior leadership, you will ensure projects are commercially controlled, risks are identified early and expected margins are achieved. This is a broad commercial role covering project performance, subcontractor management, procurement, contracts and commercial reporting. Key Responsibilities Manage the commercial performance of projects from pre-construction through to final accountSet and manage project budgets, costs, forecasts and marginsProduce CVRs and regular commercial reportingManage valuations, applications for payment, variations and change controlIdentify and manage commercial and contractual riskProcure and commercially manage subcontractorsManage subcontractor payments, variations and final accountsSupport procurement of high-value electrical equipment including substations, transformers and switchgearReview and administer NEC, JCT and framework contractsManage early warnings, compensation events and contractual noticesSupport tendering, estimating and pre-construction activitiesWork closely with Project Managers to monitor costs, programme and profitabilityManage client-facing commercial discussions and negotiationsFeed actual project costs back into estimating and future pricingSupport improvements to commercial processes, reporting and systemsMentor and support junior commercial team members where required The Person We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager with a strong background in electrical or infrastructure projects. Experience within EV charging or ICP businesses would be particularly relevant, although candidates from HV, grid connections, utilities, electrical contracting and wider energy or infrastructure environments will also be considered. The successful candidate will ideally have: Strong Quantity Surveying or commercial management experienceExperience within electrical, utilities, energy or infrastructure projectsFull project lifecycle experience from tender through to final accountGood knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contractsStrong experience with cost control, forecasting, valuations and variationsExperience procuring and commercially managing subcontractorsExperience managing multiple live projectsStrong understanding of project risk, margin and profitabilityStrong commercial and contractual negotiation skillsExperience working closely with Project Managers and operational teamsConfidence working with clients, subcontractors and senior stakeholdersFull UK driving licence A Quantity Surveying degree or professional qualification would be advantageous but is not essential. Relevant commercial experience within electrical infrastructure is the priority. Package £65,000–£75,000 basic salary depending on experience, plus a £6,000 car allowance, pension and additional company benefits.
