Quantum Wave Solutions is an IT consultancy based in Brussels and Luxembourg. We place consultants in software engineering, AI/ML and cybersecurity with the European institutions, large organisations and Luxembourg's financial sector. We're looking for experienced Java / Spring Boot developers for assignments mainly in Luxembourg and across the European institutions ecosystem. The role is open as a permanent position or as a freelance engagement, depending on your profile and preferences. The assignment: Assignments involve building and evolving business-critical applications: designing and developing Spring Boot microservices and REST APIsintegrating with the client's enterprise systemsmodernising existing Java applicationsworking alongside the client's in-house teams and other contractors, following their quality, security and documentation standardsDepending on the client, work is on-site, hybrid or remote. In Luxembourg, most assignments currently require 2 to 3 days on-site per week. What we're looking for 5+ years of Java development in production, including at least 2 years with Spring BootStrong command of REST API design, microservice architectures and relational databases (PostgreSQL or Oracle)Hands-on experience with at least one public cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP)Comfortable in multi-vendor environments where your code is reviewed and your design choices are discussedProfessional French and English; Luxembourgish or German is a plusAuthorised to work in Luxembourg and/or Belgium (we are not able to sponsor work permits at this stage) Nice to have: prior work on European institution projects, Kubernetes, application security (OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, OWASP), knowledge of eIDAS, a valid security clearance.
