We're partnering with an early-stage AI health tech startup building technology that helps medical practices manage and automate patient phone conversations.
Despite being early stage, the company has already supported 25,000+ live clinical calls and converted its initial design partners into paying customers.
You'll join a small team with significant ownership and the opportunity to help shape the product and technical direction as the business scales.
About the Role
Our client is looking for a Software Engineer and Staff Level SWE, to join their growing Boston team.
This is a backend-leaning role working across AI workflows, integrations, infrastructure, and production systems.
You'll work closely with engineering, clinical teams, customers, and leadership to take problems from idea through to production.
Location: Boston, MA – 2–3 days/week in office
Responsibilities
Build backend services using Python and Node.js.Develop data models and systems using PostgreSQL.Build integrations with healthcare systems, phone platforms, and third-party APIs.Develop LLM-powered workflows across transcription, note generation, and conversational AI.Work with real-time voice and streaming systems.Improve infrastructure, monitoring, and production reliability.
Qualifications
2+ years of professional software engineering experience.Strong Python and/or Node.js experience.Experience with relational databases and cloud infrastructure.Strong API, debugging, testing, and software design fundamentals.Regular user of AI coding tools and agents.Comfortable with autonomy and ownership in an early-stage startup.
Nice to Have
Experience building LLM/AI-powered products.Experience with voice, streaming, WebSockets, or telephony.Healthcare, fintech, or regulated-industry experience.AI side projects, experiments, or open-source work.
