(Sr.) Software Design Engineer About the Role We are looking for an experienced C++ Software Design Engineer with a strong background in computer science, mathematics, or a related technical field. In this role, you will contribute to the development of advanced 3D medical imaging applications that support minimally invasive cardiac and vascular procedures, helping healthcare professionals make faster and better-informed decisions during treatment. What You'll Do As a Senior Software Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and evolution of innovative image-guided therapy applications and supporting software platforms. Your responsibilities will include: Designing and developing high-performance software solutions for advanced medical imaging systems.Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including software developers, architects, system engineers, and clinical specialists.Translating product roadmaps and clinical requirements into scalable software architectures and technical designs.Building prototypes to validate concepts and reduce technical risks during early development phases.Contributing throughout the full product development lifecycle, from concept through market release.Supporting and guiding distributed development teams and external software partners.Participating in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and driving continuous improvement initiatives.Ensuring software quality through best practices such as Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, code reviews, and test-driven development (TDD).The role requires close collaboration with international teams and an on-site presence of 3-4 days per week at the R&D facility in Eindhoven. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications MSc degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.10+ years of professional software development experience.Proven experience in a senior technical role such as Software Architect, Staff Engineer, Technical Lead, or Technical Product Owner.Strong background in Agile software development environments.Excellent communication skills and the ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders. Technical Expertise Modern C++ development (C++17/20).High-performance software design and optimization.Object-oriented design, design patterns, and software architecture.SOLID principles, Clean Architecture, and TDD.3D graphics and visualization technologies such as DirectX and/or OpenGL.Computational geometry and mathematical algorithms.Version control and CI/CD practices using Git-based workflows.Experience with Docker, package management, cloud technologies, and software deployment pipelines. Personal Skills Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.Passion for modern software engineering and emerging technologies.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and highly innovative environment.Comfortable working with international and cross-functional teams.
