As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to software and platform capabilities that support data connectivity and transformation. You will work alongside engineers, product managers, and partner teams to develop reliable, high-quality solutions while growing your technical skills and gaining experience across the software development lifecycle. Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain software components that support data connectivity and transformation experiences across Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Excel, and related Microsoft products.Contribute to platform capabilities including data connectors, developer tooling, SDKs, automation, and engineering productivity improvements.Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and partner teams to deliver reliable and customer-focused solutions.Improve software quality, performance, diagnosability, and maintainability through testing, telemetry, monitoring, and engineering best practices.Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and troubleshooting efforts while contributing to the design and development of Power Query platform components.Contribute to features and components throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, validation, deployment, and support.Embody Microsoft’s culture and values. Qualifications Required/Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. Other Requirements Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements as required for this role. Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred/Additional Qualifications Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.Experience developing software, services, platforms, or developer technologies.Familiarity with data connectivity, APIs, databases, or data integration technologies.Familiarity with software engineering practices such as source control, code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration.Experience or familiarity with technologies such as C#, .NET, TypeScript, SQL, Azure, or related technologies.Interest in solving technical challenges involving data connectivity, reliability, performance, and platform engineering.
