Writes, tests, and documents technical work products (e.g., code, scripts, processes) according to organizational standards and practicesSolves technical problems and builds components/libraries with far-ranging impactDelivers high quality work and coaches more junior engineers on technical craftsmanshipConducts root cause analysis to identify systemic problems and defines and leads execution of action items to addressDesigns thoughtfully integrated systems that model organizational best practices, allowing disparate teams across product domains to deliver value with speed, scale, and reliabilityOversees the management of technical debt in existing systems and drives opportunities to eliminate within ongoing implementationsConsistently anticipates scaling, latency, and durability challenges and guides teams in implementation of mitigating strategiesPartners with the security organization to incorporate security conscious practices early in the lifecycle of new systemsThoughtfully evaluates technical risks and guides toward practical prevention strategiesConsistently reflects on squad delivery practices throughout their span of of influence, recommends improvements to leadership and drives their implementationMaintains a focus on removing the duplication of effort across teams and proactively identifies opportunities for reuse within their span of influenceThoughtfully measures and assesses team and identifies areas of development for individualsExplores emerging technologies, leads development of prototypes with little or no guidance and incorporates into architectural solutions where appropriate Requirements: Core Technical Skills Java development expertise.Java 17+ (Spring Boot 3 for API development)REST/GraphQL (Apollo, Spring GraphQL)Strong proficiency in Java SE (Core Java)Strong experience with Docker and container-based development.Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).Proficiency with Azure cloud infrastructure including VNet, private networking, and security configurations.Practical knowledge of:Azure Event HubAzure Cosmos DB (MongoDB API)Azure PostgreSQLDevOps & AutomationAdvanced experience with GitHub Actions (build/test/deployment).Strong scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell, or similar).Hands-on experience with Git, GitHub, and CloudSmith.Architecture & DesignProven track record building microservices architectures.Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and integration patterns.Observability & SecurityExperience with Dynatrace for APM and monitoring.Logging expertise using Dynatrace & Mezmo.Familiarity with cloud-native security best practices and secure coding procedures.Soft SkillsExcellent problem-solving skills, especially in distributed and cloud-native systems.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work effectively in an Agile/Scrum environment.A collaborative mindset, focusing on team success and delivering high-quality solutions. Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have) Certification in Azure (AZ-204, AZ-305, or similar).Experience with event-driven or streaming architectures.Knowledge of cloud cost optimization strategies.Experience mentoring or leading technical teams.
