About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AI Platform Engineer to join BlackRock's AI Platform Engineering team within the Aladdin Engineering division. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge AI infrastructure to support the firm’s investment management technology. As part of the team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the AI ecosystem across the organization, ensuring seamless integration and deployment of machine learning models at scale. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with extensive experience in platform and software engineering, particularly in cloud-native environments. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. Candidates should have over 10 years of relevant experience, demonstrating expertise in building scalable APIs, microservices, and distributed systems. Proficiency in Kubernetes, containerization technologies such as Docker, and cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure is essential. Additionally, experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, and strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Rust, and C++ are required. A solid understanding of networking, security policies, and monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana is also necessary. Knowledge of data science tools, distributed data processing frameworks, and MLOps practices will be advantageous. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain a next-generation scalable AI platform to support BlackRock’s investment management technology. Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters for deploying and orchestrating AI models efficiently. Build platform abstractions to manage cloud-native infrastructure across multiple environments including AWS, GCP, and Azure. Develop and maintain automated pipelines for continuous training, testing, and deployment of machine learning models, ensuring enterprise-grade security and compliance standards are met. Troubleshoot and resolve platform performance and reliability issues promptly. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine business and functional requirements, translating them into scalable technical solutions. Apply best practices in software engineering throughout the development lifecycle to ensure high-quality deliverables. Work effectively with team members across multiple offices and countries, fostering a collaborative environment.
