Full Stack Engineer (React / Node.js) Location: Netherlands (Hybrid/) Experience Required: 5-7 Years Employment Type: Contract / Full-Time 6 months About the Role We are looking for a highly capable Full Stack Engineer who possesses strong expertise across both frontend and backend development. This role is ideal for engineers who have built and maintained end-to-end applications rather than focusing primarily on frontend development. You will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable customer-facing products while collaborating with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, QA, Data, and Engineering. The ideal candidate combines strong frontend skills with equally strong backend engineering capabilities and enjoys working across the entire technology stack. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using modern web technologies.Deliver end-to-end product features across both frontend and backend systems.Translate business requirements, user stories, and design mockups into high-quality production-ready solutions.Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, QA engineers, and fellow developers throughout the software development lifecycle.Develop performant and reusable frontend components using React and TypeScript.Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations using Node.js and related technologies.Ensure application performance, reliability, security, scalability, and maintainability.Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.Monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to incident response activities.Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and cloud-based infrastructure.Required Skills & Experience 5-7 years of professional software engineering experience.Strong hands-on expertise in:JavaScript / TypeScriptReactNode.jsHTML5 & CSS3Proven experience building and maintaining both frontend applications and backend services.Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and backend architecture principles.Experience with software design patterns and scalable application development.Strong proficiency with Git and modern software development workflows.Experience writing unit, integration, and automated tests.Strong understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and frontend best practices.Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.Knowledge of application monitoring, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and incident management.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Fluent English communication skills.Preferred Qualifications Experience with GraphQL.Exposure to AWS and cloud-native architectures.Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.Knowledge of data-driven product development, analytics, and A/B testing.Experience supporting products with large and active user bases.Experience within fast-paced product-led technology organizations.Ideal Candidate Profile Full Stack Engineer rather than a frontend specialist.Comfortable spending significant time on both backend and frontend development.Hands-on contributor with strong coding abilities across the entire application stack.Typically possesses 5-7 years of experience, bringing a balance of technical depth, adaptability, and growth potential.Thrives in collaborative, multi-stakeholder environments and enjoys solving complex technical challenges.Must-Have Requirements ✅ 5-7 years Software Engineering experience ✅ Strong React + TypeScript expertise ✅ Strong Node.js/backend development experience ✅ Full Stack development background (Frontend + Backend) ✅ Docker & Kubernetes exposure ✅ Production support and deployment experience ✅ Experience building customer-facing digital products ✅ Strong English communication skills Important: Candidates who are primarily frontend developers with only limited backend exposure are unlikely to be a fit.
