Senior GitOps Platform Engineer Location: London - Hybrid Duration: 6 monthsDay rate: CompetitiveStart date: ASAP We're seeking a Senior GitOps Platform Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of a modern GitOps capability within a large-scale enterprise environment. This role is suited to a hands-on engineer who can own GitOps end-to-end, partnering with engineering teams, architects, security stakeholders, and programme leadership to drive automation, governance, and platform best practice. Key Responsibilities Own and develop the GitOps strategy and operating model.Design, build, and enhance CI/CD and platform automation capabilities.Develop and maintain solutions using TypeScript, Python and Terraform.Work closely with InfoSec and Enterprise Architecture teams to gain design approval and ensure compliance with standards.Improve developer experience through automation, reusable patterns, and engineering best practices.Contribute to platform standards, governance, and engineering roadmaps.Support existing codebases whilst delivering new platform capabilities. Required Experience Strong GitOps and CI/CD engineering experience.Deep understanding of GitHub Actions and modern software delivery practices.Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, TypeScript and/or Terraform.Experience working with infrastructure as code and cloud-native platforms.Ability to communicate technical designs and influence senior stakeholders.Comfortable working across engineering, security, architecture, and delivery teams. Desirable Experience within large enterprise or regulated environments.Knowledge of IAM, identity, authentication, and access management concepts.Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.Exposure to cloud platforms and Kubernetes-based environments.
