Full Stack Engineer

Full Stack Engineer (React / Node.js) Location: Netherlands (Hybrid) Contract: Initial 6 Months (Extension Expected) Experience: 5-7 Years About the Role We are looking for a talented Full Stack Engineer to join an established product engineering team building customer-facing search and travel experience solutions. You will work within a mature, enterprise-scale environment where products already serve a large user base and features are delivered through collaboration across multiple engineering teams. This role requires a genuine Full Stack Engineer, not a frontend specialist with limited backend exposure. You will work closely with existing backend systems and services while developing intuitive user-facing experiences that directly impact customers. The hiring manager has specifically emphasized strong backend ownership alongside frontend expertise. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using React, TypeScript, and Node.js.Build customer-facing product features and user interfaces.Collaborate with backend engineers, designers, QA engineers, and product stakeholders.Translate business requirements and mockups into production-ready functionality.Develop and maintain APIs and backend integrations.Write clean, maintainable code with strong test coverage.Support deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and reliability initiatives.Participate in system design discussions and architectural decisions.Work within large codebases and enterprise-scale engineering environments.Leverage modern development tools, including AI-assisted coding solutions.Required Skills 5-7 years of software engineering experience.Strong React development experience.Advanced TypeScript and JavaScript skills.Strong Node.js backend development experience.Experience building and supporting full-stack applications.HTML5 and CSS expertise.Experience with Git version control.Experience with unit testing and code quality practices.Strong understanding of scalable web architecture and frontend best practices.Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and production deployments.Experience working within large-scale enterprise environments.Excellent English communication skills.Preferred Qualifications GraphQL experience.AWS or cloud-native application experience.Experience with A/B testing and experimentation platforms.Data-driven product development experience.Experience supporting products with large customer bases.Familiarity with AI-assisted development and modern engineering tooling.Ideal Candidate True Full Stack Engineer with strong frontend and backend expertise.Comfortable working across complex codebases and multiple teams.Proactive communicator who takes ownership and collaborates effectively.Experience working in enterprise-scale organizations, large technology companies, e-commerce businesses, or other complex environments.Not a frontend-heavy profile.
