Job Description Create your best future and join Westpac as a Software Automation Engineer. What’s the role? You'll play a key role in helping One commercial banking deliver high quality, reliable technology solutions for our Business Lending customers. As an Automation Engineer, you'll build and enhance automation frameworks that improve testing efficiency, support complex data migration activities, and strengthen confidence in business-critical technology changes. Working across multiple enterprise applications, you'll automate testing processes, validate large scale data movements, investigate technical issues and collaborate with engineers, architects, business analysts and delivery teams to solve complex challenges. You'll also contribute to improving ways of working, enhancing automation capability and helping teams deliver better outcomes, faster. This is a full time, hybrid role based in Surfers Paradise, Queensland. What do I need? Strong experience designing, building and improving automation frameworks for enterprise applications Hands on experience with TypeScript, Java, Python, Selenium, UFT, API testing or similar automation technologies Experience using SQL, MySQL or similar databases to analyse data, validate outcomes and investigate defects Understanding of CI/CD practices, DevOps ways of working and continuous testing approaches Experience using AI agents to accelerate and optimise testing, including test data generation and augmentation, test case and automation-script generation, test-data validation and reconciliation Strong communication, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and technologies Why join us?
