About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java-Entwickler (m/w/d) to join our dynamic IT team in Nürnberg. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the strategic modernization of our core systems within the insurance domain. Your primary responsibility will be to support and lead the replacement of our existing policy management system, actively contributing to the technological realignment of our application landscape. You will work on integrating a new Java-based policy management system, bringing your expertise in architecture, development, and technical design to the table. As an experienced backend developer, you will independently resolve technical challenges associated with software replacement and integration, ensuring seamless transition and optimal system performance. The position involves active participation across all phases of software development, from conception through testing to deployment. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including domain experts, service providers, and IT operations, within an agile team environment. Your contributions will directly influence the technological future of the company, making this a strategic and impactful role. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for backend development with extensive experience in Java application development. You should possess several years of professional and project-based experience in building and maintaining Java-based systems. A genuine enthusiasm for software development and continuous learning is essential. You must be adept at quickly and systematically familiarizing yourself with new technologies, frameworks, and system landscapes, and proactively identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement. Excellent communication skills are vital, enabling you to articulate technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders. You should demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, be solution-oriented, and capable of prioritizing tasks effectively even in complex situations. A formal qualification such as a completed apprenticeship as a Fachinformatiker/in, a degree in computer science, or an equivalent qualification is required. Responsibilities Your key responsibilities will include supporting the strategic replacement of our existing policy management system, actively participating in the design and development of a new Java-based system, and ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure. You will independently tackle technical challenges during the software replacement and integration phases, providing innovative solutions and technical expertise. Your role involves taking ownership of all software development stages, including requirements analysis, system architecture, coding, testing, and deployment. You will work within an agile team, collaborating closely with business units, external service providers, and IT operations to align project goals and deliverables. Additionally, you will contribute to shaping the technological future of the company by recommending improvements, implementing best practices, and staying abreast of emerging technologies relevant to the insurance sector.
