About the role
We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, build and scale the systems we deliver for clients.
The role covers the full stack, from database design and application development to the cloud infrastructure that supports systems as they grow.
Projects are built on Next.js, Supabase and Vercel, with Stripe, Resend and the Claude API where required.
The successful candidate will also lead work on systems that outgrow managed platforms, including migrations to AWS and container-based infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain full-stack web applications using Next.js, React and Postgres.Design database schemas and implement access control, including row-level security policies.Identify and resolve performance issues as systems scale, including query optimisation, indexing, caching and background processing.Plan and carry out migrations from managed platforms to AWS, using containers and Kubernetes where the workload justifies it.Build and maintain infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and alerting.Apply secure development practices, including authentication, permission boundaries, secrets management and least-privilege access.Estimate work and change requests accurately to support client quoting.Communicate with clients on technical matters throughout a project, including walkthroughs and user acceptance testing.Produce clear technical documentation and runbooks to support handover.Essential requirements
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.3+ years of professional experience building and running production web applications.Strong experience with React or Next.js, JavaScript or TypeScript, and Postgres.Demonstrated experience scaling a system under production load.Hands-on experience with AWS, including compute, networking, IAM and managed databases.Experience running containerised workloads in production with Docker and Kubernetes.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical decisions to non-technical clients.Full working rights in Australia.
