About The Role We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer (m/w/d) to join our dynamic team in Coburg, Bavaria. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining backend Java web applications for HUK24.de and HUK.de platforms. Working within a cross-functional team, you will be involved throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from conception to deployment. Your expertise will contribute to shaping innovative digital solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing backend systems, and maintaining high availability and performance of backend services. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, providing technical advice and support for digital transformation initiatives. The role offers an excellent opportunity to work on challenging projects in a collaborative environment, leveraging modern technologies and practices to deliver high-quality solutions. Qualifications The ideal candidate will hold a degree or equivalent qualification in IT, computer science, or a related field, with a focus on software development. You should have several years of experience developing Java-based applications, particularly with frameworks such as Spring Boot or Quarkus, ideally including MicroProfile. Experience working in cloud environments, especially serverless architectures on AWS, and designing REST APIs is essential. Knowledge of automation within CI/CD pipelines, containerization, Infrastructure as Code, and monitoring practices is also required. Strong communication skills, team-oriented mindset, and a willingness to continuously learn new technologies are vital. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to share knowledge effectively through code reviews, pairing, and mentoring, fostering a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities Develop and maintain robust backend Java web applications for HUK24.de and HUK.de platforms, ensuring high performance and scalability.Participate actively in the entire software development lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation, testing, and deployment.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, designers, and other developers, to deliver innovative digital solutions.Design and implement new backend functionalities to enhance the customer experience on our digital platforms.Build and maintain interfaces to existing backend systems, ensuring data consistency and system integrity.Manage deployment processes, monitor system performance, and ensure the high availability of backend services.Implement automated testing strategies using tools such as JUnit and Postman/Newman to maintain code quality and facilitate continuous improvement.Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices, integrating relevant innovations into ongoing projects.
