Description

About the Company Liftpass has been retained by a specialist engineering consultancy with decades of heritage in aviation and logistics, and a reputation for driving and delivering high-value projects in airport infrastructure, baggage handling, cargo and automated materials handling solutions. Their Oceania operation is in growth mode, their expertise is in demand and they are actively engaged in major projects on both sides of The Tasman, as well as further afield. It's a business that genuinely invests in its people, values curiosity and continuous improvement, and hires with the intention that you'll build a long career as they continue to grow. About the Role You'll be the primary link between project stakeholders, contractors and the consultancy, acting as the subject matter expert across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility through to commissioning and handover. Based predominantly on site at Brisbane Airport and reporting to the Regional Director, you'll work alongside global engineering teams while owning the client relationship locally. Liaising with airport operations directors and senior stakeholders, you'll translate technical detail into business language, manage expectations when programmes shift, and have the confidence to challenge stakeholders. You'll also help grow the business through presentations and business development, and mentor junior engineers as the team expands. Key responsibilities include: - Leading site inspections, field surveys, equipment testing and construction management activities. - Assessing sites for feasibility and operational requirements. - Developing and reviewing CAD drawings, engineering designs, specifications and technical reports. - Managing project budgets, programmes and logistics, including RFI responses and punch list close-out. - Preparing status reports, cost estimates and technical studies. - Conducting and reviewing system simulations and verifying compliance with project requirements. - Coordinating with architects, designers, engineers and trades across multidisciplinary teams. - Providing specialist support to other offices on BHS controls, installation, electrical design and emerging trends in baggage operations. - Supporting business development and presenting to new and prospective clients. - Mentoring junior and new staff. About You You're a technically strong engineer who's equally at home on site and in the boardroom. You're professional, articulate and commercially aware, with the judgement to work independently in front of a client. Attention to detail is second nature, you add value to every conversation, and you're a genuine team player. You have: - Experience in large-scale conveyored solutions: baggage handling systems, warehouse automation, factory automation or similar multimillion-dollar projects - Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering, aviation management, airport planning or a related discipline. - 2+ years in a Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager capacity. - Proven delivery experience in leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects from initiation through to completion. - Confidence in your client-facing skills, including the ability to act as SME and challenge clients constructively. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including in the production of technical reports and project documentation. - The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong problem-solving skills. - Willingness to travel regularly within Australia. - Unrestricted working rights in Australia (citizen, permanent resident or open work visa). - The ability to pass background checks and, where required, drug screening.
