About Gryps
Gryps is an AI platform for construction capital program owners.
We're looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer with 2–5 years of experience to build and maintain production-grade integrations and data pipelines.
You'll join a lean, AI-native team of around 20 people that has significantly increased engineering output through AI-native development and is backed by $7.7M in seed funding from top-tier investors.
What You'll Do
• Build, extend, and maintain API integrations at scale, including authentication, pagination, rate limiting, retries/backoff, idempotency, and error handling
• Implement and operate data workflows and pipelines using Prefect, Dagster, AWS Step Functions, Airflow, or similar tools
• Support and maintain production pipelines, investigate issues, improve resilience, and reduce repeat incidents
• Deliver backend projects from requirements through implementation, testing, rollout, and monitoring
• Collaborate with senior engineers and Forward Deployed Engineers to turn field insights into reliable product capabilities
Requirements
Must Have:
• 2–5 years of backend software engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a reputable university
• Strong Python proficiency for backend services and data workflows
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining production data/integration pipelines in Python
• Experience with API integrations at scale, including rate limiting, retries, async processes, and error handling
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Prefect, Dagster, Airflow, or AWS Step Functions
• Based in or near New York City and able to work in-office 3 days per week
Nice to Have
• Experience at an early-stage B2B SaaS startup (Seed–Series B)
• Hands-on AWS experience with Lambda, Step Functions, ECS/Fargate, SQS, CDK, or related services
• Experience with AI/ML, agentic systems, NLP, data ingestion, ETL/ELT, or knowledge graphs
