TechOps Engineer responsibilities:
Responsible for system uptime and integrity of customer systems - must be capable of building and architecting systems to maintain uptimeDocumenting technical designs and creating training materials and documentationMonitoring daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systemsManaging installations, upgrades, and maintenance of deployments of Linux, virtual environments such as proxmox as well as containerized environments such as dockerWork closely with dev-ops to implement and scale-up automation of core tasksEnsuring protection of data assets by maintaining strict security policies and guidelinesTesting, troubleshooting, and modifying information systems so that they operate effectivelyWork alongside TechOps, IT staff, IT Security and System Administrators
Basic requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related fieldExpert system administrator for Debian based distributionsExpert in computer networks, hardware, support, IT security, and toolsExperience with multiple hosting environments (cloud, bare metal, VPS)Experience with various Databases and SQL (MySQL preferable)Highly organized, self-starter and detail-orientedProgramming and scripting skills (Python, Bash, Ansible)Strong and effective communication skillsStrong Linux, Proxmox, pfSense experience.
