We're seeking a talented Software Engineer to join the Optum Real engineering team, developing highly scalable, cloud-native applications that power healthcare transaction processing, API integrations, event-driven systems, and operational tooling. What You Will Do Design, develop, test, and support cloud-native applications using Java and Spring BootBuild and maintain REST APIs and event-driven integrationsDevelop scalable microservices operating within Azure cloud environmentsContribute to healthcare transaction processing solutions and service-oriented architecturesParticipate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and engineering best practicesCollaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to refine technical requirementsCreate and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testsSupport CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practicesMonitor and support production systems, resolving complex technical issues and implementing long-term solutionsEnhance application observability through logging, monitoring, alerting, and telemetryParticipate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, backlog refinement, and retrospectives You will be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in.
