Position Overview
The Senior Engineer – IT will be responsible for leading and delivering business-value-driven application development, cloud engineering, integration, and AI-enabled solutions across the organization.
This position requires a strong combination of modern .NET development, Python, React.js/Blazor, API development, cloud engineering, DevOps, data platforms, and AI-driven application development.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, IT Architecture, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, reliable, and maintainable technology solutions.
This is not a traditional .NET developer position.
We are seeking an experienced engineer with strong hands-on Azure and GCP cloud engineering capabilities, modern full-stack development experience, and practical experience designing and developing AI-enabled applications and integrations.
The Senior Engineer will also provide technical leadership, perform code reviews, mentor engineers, contribute to architecture and design decisions, and help establish effective engineering practices across the team.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Engineering
Lead development team members in designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise applications.
Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Lead technical discussions and evaluate the pros and cons of technology platforms, frameworks, tools, and architectural approaches.
Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, performance, scalability, and adherence to secure coding standards.
Establish and promote development best practices, coding standards, design patterns, testing practices, and engineering processes.
Mentor and coach other IT Engineers and support continuous development of technical capabilities within the team.
Cross-train team members and share business, application, cloud, and technology knowledge.
Identify opportunities to improve development processes, application performance, automation, and operational efficiency.
Application Development
Design and develop modern enterprise applications using .NET, ASP.NET Core, C#, Python, React.js, and Blazor.
Develop responsive and scalable web applications and user interfaces using React.js and/or Blazor.
Build and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, integrations, and backend services.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications, application designs, APIs, data models, and implementation plans.
Apply Object-Oriented Design principles, SOLID principles, and established software design patterns.
Participate in application sizing, technical analysis, architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and implementation.
Develop reusable components, services, APIs, libraries, and frameworks.
Troubleshoot complex application, integration, performance, and production issues.
Develop solutions that are scalable, secure, highly available, and maintainable.
AI-Driven Application Development
Design and develop applications that incorporate Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI capabilities.
Build practical AI-enabled features and workflows using enterprise AI services and APIs.
Integrate AI/LLM capabilities into existing applications, APIs, business processes, and enterprise platforms.
Work with technologies and concepts such as LLMs, prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, vector search, AI agents, and AI-powered automation, as applicable.
Evaluate AI platforms and services available within Azure and GCP.
Develop secure and responsible AI integrations while considering data privacy, security, performance, cost, and reliability.
Collaborate with architecture, data, and business teams to identify appropriate use cases for AI-driven solutions.
Prototype, test, and productionize AI-enabled application capabilities.
Cloud Engineering
Design, develop, deploy, and support cloud-native and cloud-enabled applications across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Build and maintain cloud services, application environments, integrations, and deployment architectures.
Work with Azure services such as Azure App Services, Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, and other relevant Azure platform services.
Work with GCP services and data platforms, including Big Query and other relevant GCP services.
Support cloud migration, modernization, application integration, scalability, monitoring, and optimization initiatives.
Apply cloud security, identity, networking, availability, resiliency, and cost-management principles.
Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and application issues in collaboration with relevant infrastructure and platform teams.
Evaluate cloud technologies and recommend appropriate solutions based on business and technical requirements.
Note: This role requires Azure and GCP experience.
AWS is not part of the technology environment for this position.
API & Integration Development
Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise APIs and system integrations.
Develop REST APIs and integration services using modern .NET and related technologies.
Work with API management platforms such as Apigee and/or equivalent enterprise API management technologies.
Design secure, scalable, reusable, and well-documented API interfaces.
Integrate internal and external applications, SaaS platforms, databases, cloud services, and enterprise systems.
Troubleshoot integration failures, performance issues, authentication problems, and data synchronization challenges
