What You'll Do
As a Senior Software Engineer at Thri5, you'll play a key role in building and scaling our product.
You'll own significant technical problems from design through production, working closely with product, customers, and other engineers.
You'll work across our stack, including:
Building AI-powered workflows, agents, and customer-facing featuresDesigning backend services, APIs, data models, and data pipelinesMaking architectural decisions as the product and customer base scaleImproving reliability, observability, security, and performanceEvaluating and incorporating new AI capabilities into our productReviewing code and helping establish strong engineering practices across the teamWe move quickly, work collaboratively, and expect senior engineers to combine strong technical judgment with a bias toward building and shipping.
Technologies We Use
We are an AI-native engineering organization and use specs, agent skills, and AI-assisted development workflows extensively.
We use Claude Code extensively as part of our development workflow.
Our core stack is Kotlin on GCP, Postgres, Snowflake, Airflow, Thymeleaf, and HTMX.
We're more interested in strong engineering fundamentals and your ability to learn than previous experience with every part of our stack.
Who We're Looking For
5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of designing, building, and operating high-quality production systemsAbility to independently scope ambiguous problems, make sound architectural decisions, and drive solutions through productionStrong backend development experience, including APIs, databases, and system architectureStrong product judgment and an interest in understanding the customer problems behind what you buildExperience working in fast-moving teams and building new productsStrong communication and collaboration skills
Experience with AI/LLM applications, enterprise SaaS, data-intensive systems, Kotlin/JVM, GCP, Snowflake, or early-stage startups is valuable but not required.
Location: Downtown Toronto (Hybrid — 4 days a week in office)
