Position Overview: BLN24 is seeking a Lead Python Developer to support CFPB's RegTech BPA program by architecting and leading development of scalable, cloud-native, public-facing solutions. This role requires extensive experience designing API-driven, fault-tolerant, distributed systems in Python, hands-on expertise with Kubernetes and AWS-native serverless services, and demonstrated leadership of remote, cross-functional development teams. Primary Responsibilities:Serve as lead developer and technical authority for a cross-functional team of remote developersArchitect API-driven, fault-tolerant, distributed, cloud-native solutionsDevelop, deploy, and troubleshoot Python-based containerized and serverless applications using Kubernetes and AWS-native servicesDesign and implement performant REST APIs using modern Python frameworksBuild Python-based libraries and services with high unit and integration test coverageDesign and implement CI/CD pipelines for linting, testing, scanning, packaging, and deploying Python servicesDesign PostgreSQL databases optimized for high-volume data ingestion and analytics, integrated with Python servicesBuild Python-based ETL pipelines and provision AWS resources using Infrastructure as CodeIntegrate applications with web-based identity management and verification servicesManage open-source codebases and public-facing releases using GitHub for source control and planning Required Qualifications 10+ years of professional experience architecting scalable solutions, including API-driven, fault-tolerant, distributed, cloud-native solutionsSolid understanding of system design, with specific experience developing, deploying, and troubleshooting Python-based containerized and serverless applications in a highly elastic architecture using Kubernetes and AWS-native servicesExperience leading a cross-functional team of remote developers and serving as a lead developerExperience working on open-source projects and delivering public-facing solutionsExperience working with GitHub for source code management and planningExperience developing Python-based libraries and services with high unit and integration test coverageExperience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for linting, testing, scanning, packaging, and deploying Python-based servicesExperience designing and implementing performant REST APIs using modern Python frameworksExperience integrating with web-based identity management and verification servicesExperience designing PostgreSQL databases geared toward high-volume data ingestion and analytics, integrated into Python servicesExperience developing and provisioning AWS resources with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)Experience designing and implementing Python-based ETL pipelines Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fieldCI/CD pipeline experience with GitHub ActionsREST API experience with FastAPIIdentity management and verification experience with OIDCIaC experience with Python-based AWS CDKETL pipeline experience with AWS event-driven services such as S3, EventBridge, and LambdaPrior engagement at CFPB or other federal financial regulators (e.g., FDIC, OCC, SEC, FRB, NCUA)Experience supporting a federal FISMA Moderate or comparable security-compliance environment What BLN24 brings to the Game: BLN24 benefits are game changing.
