Senior Frontend Engineer – TypeScript / React – Contract Location: Germany / Remote Working Model: Remote / Hybrid options available Contract: 6 months initially, with potential extension Start Date: ASAP Rate: €80–€100 per hour Experience: Mid-Level to Senior Language: English required; German advantageous Senior Frontend Engineer – TypeScript / React We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to join a technology team working on modern, scalable web applications. The successful candidate will have strong commercial experience with TypeScript and React and will play an important role in designing and developing high-quality user interfaces for a modern software platform. You will work closely with backend engineers, product managers, UX/UI specialists and other technical teams within an Agile environment. The Role As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will be responsible for building responsive, scalable and maintainable web applications using TypeScript and React. You will contribute to technical decisions, frontend architecture and the development of new features, while helping to maintain high standards around performance, accessibility, testing and code quality. Key Responsibilities Design and develop modern web applications using TypeScript and ReactBuild reusable and maintainable frontend componentsWork closely with UX/UI teams to deliver high-quality user experiencesIntegrate frontend applications with REST APIs and backend servicesContribute to frontend architecture and technical design decisionsDevelop responsive and accessible user interfacesWrite clean, maintainable and well-tested codeImprove application performance and scalabilityParticipate in code reviews and technical discussionsDevelop automated frontend testsWork with Git and modern CI/CD development workflowsTroubleshoot and resolve frontend issuesCollaborate with backend, DevOps and product teams in an Agile/Scrum environmentEssential Experience We are looking for candidates with: Strong commercial experience with TypeScriptExcellent hands-on experience with ReactStrong knowledge of JavaScriptGood understanding of HTML5 and CSS3Experience building production-quality web applicationsExperience integrating REST APIsExperience with Git and modern development workflowsUnderstanding of frontend architecture and component-based developmentExperience with automated testingExperience working in Agile/Scrum teamsStrong communication and problem-solving skillsDesirable Experience Experience with the following would be advantageous: Next.jsNode.jsReact Query / TanStack QueryRedux or other state management solutionsJestCypress or PlaywrightWebpack / ViteDockerCI/CDAWS or AzureDesign systemsAccessibility / WCAGMicrofrontend architectureThe Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Frontend Engineer who enjoys building modern web applications and can take ownership of frontend development from technical design through to delivery. You should be comfortable working in a collaborative Agile environment and communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience working within fintech, financial services, banking or other regulated industries would be advantageous but is not essential.
