Description

Job Description The opportunity QIC is seeking an accomplished infrastructure executive to join our Global Infrastructure team as Partner – Infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to work across government, investment and major infrastructure delivery, helping progress some of Queensland and Australia’s most significant infrastructure priorities. Working closely with QIC’s Infrastructure team, the Queensland Government and other key stakeholders, you will provide strategic, commercial and investment leadership across complex government infrastructure initiatives. A significant initial focus will be supporting the development, financing and progression of initiatives within the Queensland Energy Roadmap, alongside other major State and Federal Government projects. Reporting to the Head of Global Infrastructure, this is a highly visible role requiring the ability to bring together government, investors, project partners, advisers and multidisciplinary teams to turn complex opportunities into executable outcomes. What you’ll be responsible for: You will provide leadership across the full lifecycle of major greenfield infrastructure projects, from early-stage development and investment structuring through procurement, financing, construction and commissioning. Key responsibilities will include: leading the development and progression of complex government infrastructure initiatives; shaping commercial, legal, investment and procurement frameworks that balance commercial discipline, delivery certainty and stakeholder outcomes; providing strategic leadership across project development, approvals, procurement, construction and commissioning; leading complex stakeholder relationships across State and Federal Government, investors, contractors, consortium partners and advisers; providing commercial and investment leadership across financial evaluation, project risk and value optimisation; working closely with QIC investment teams on investment structuring, financing, due diligence and transaction execution; contributing to negotiations across major project documentation, including term sheets, shareholder arrangements, consortium structures and design and construction agreements; preparing and presenting recommendations to QIC Investment Committees, the QIC Board and Government stakeholders; contributing to asset strategy, transition planning, risk management, sustainability and long-term value creation; and providing leadership, coaching and direction to multidisciplinary project teams. About You You will be a highly experienced infrastructure executive who combines major project delivery expertise with strong commercial and investment capability. You will ideally bring: significant C-suite or senior executive leadership experience within a transport or major infrastructure business, preferably with operating responsibility; 15+ years’ experience leading the delivery of major greenfield infrastructure projects; demonstrated infrastructure investment and asset management experience; experience developing, financing and delivering major capital projects; a strong understanding of infrastructure investment, project finance, PPP/concession structures and regulatory frameworks; experience establishing or leading owner’s teams with engineering and construction oversight; Board or Non-Executive Director experience within an infrastructure-related business; demonstrated experience leading transformation, transition or business establishment; a strong track record leading and developing multidisciplinary teams; and sophisticated stakeholder-management capability, particularly within government-facing environments. What Will Set You Apart You’ll be someone who can operate comfortably across both the commercial and public-policy dimensions of major infrastructure. You’ll bring the judgement and credibility to engage at executive, Board and Government level while remaining close enough to project delivery to understand the practical implications of investment and strategic decisions. You’ll be collaborative, commercially minded and comfortable navigating ambiguity, bringing together diverse stakeholders around complex issues and creating momentum toward an outcome. Why this role? This role offers the opportunity to apply your infrastructure leadership and investment experience to projects with significant economic and community impact, while working alongside experienced investment professionals and senior government stakeholders. You’ll also have the opportunity to build and strengthen relationships across Queensland Government, industry, investment banks, advisers and QIC’s investment and corporate teams. If you are an experienced infrastructure leader who brings together major project delivery, investment capability and sophisticated government stakeholder management, we would welcome the opportunity to hear from you.
