Purpose of the role:
Design, engineer, implement, test, commission and maintain control automation and monitoring systems across projects of varying size and complexity, using Building Management Systems (BMS), PLC, SCADA and Power Monitoring/Metering technologies.
The role supports the successful delivery of projects from design through to commissioning, handover and maintenance, ensuring solutions are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
As engineers progress through ABEC's career framework, they will take on greater technical responsibility, autonomy and leadership, supporting colleagues, building strong client relationships and contributing to the continued success of the business through technical excellence and continuous professional development.
Tasks:
Implement and test project system software based on agreed design.

Carry out third-party interface factory testing.
3.
Undertake on-site pre-commissioning and commissioning.
4.
Provide maintenance support for installed systems.
5.
Create and maintain test/commissioning documentation in real time.
6.
Communicate progress and issues to the ABEC Project Manager / Lead Engineer.
7.
Provide on-site coordination with clients and subcontractors when directed.
8.
Record tasks accurately on timesheets and complete expenses on time.
9.
Provide progress updates and engineer reports.
Additional Responsibilities:
1.
Act as the interface between bid teams and project delivery, providing technical input into
new projects opportunities.
2.
Lead the design, engineering, and FAT testing (including third-party interfaces).
3.
Support the commissioning team on site with guidance and oversight.
4.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams.
5.
Ensure design information and drawings are complete, issued, and approved.
6.
Prepare and approve test documentation packs for use by engineers.
7.
Mentor and support junior engineers and project teams.
8.
Provide lead engineering support to Project Managers.
9.
Suggest Testing and Commissioning methodologies / tools to the ABEC project manager and
Solutions Architects to improve quality, profit margins and ensure on-site engineering cost
savings.
10.
Deliver input to bids and proposals with accurate technical solutions for new opportunities.
11.
Deliver high customer satisfaction, ensuring ABEC is positioned for repeat work.
