Senior PKI / Platform Engineer – Lead Location: Poland – Remote Contract: 6 months Rate: Hourly rate, dependent on experience Working arrangement: Fully remote We are looking for an experienced Senior PKI / Platform Engineer – Lead to take overall technical ownership of an enterprise platform focused on PKI, certificate lifecycle management, automation and service identity. This is a senior technical role requiring strong infrastructure engineering experience, with the ability to define target architecture, establish automation patterns and provide technical guidance across the wider engineering team. Key Responsibilities Take overall technical ownership of the PKI and platform engineering workstreamDefine and develop the target technical architectureDesign enterprise PKI and certificate lifecycle management solutionsDevelop automation patterns for certificate issuance, renewal and managementImplement and integrate ACME-based certificate automationSupport DNS automation and integration with DNS providersDevelop certificate inventory and observability capabilitiesEstablish service identity management approachesProvide technical guidance and support to other contractors and engineersWork closely with security, infrastructure and other technical stakeholdersEnsure solutions meet security, compliance and operational requirementsSupport the transition of solutions into operational environmentsEssential Experience 8+ years' experience in infrastructure engineeringStrong enterprise PKI experienceHands-on experience with certificate lifecycle managementExperience with ACME protocols and certificate automationExposure to certificate providers such as Let's Encrypt, Sectigo, HydrantID or DigiCertStrong DNS automation experienceLinux and Windows server administrationExperience designing certificate inventory and observability solutionsStrong understanding of PKI architectureUnderstanding of HSM conceptsExperience with service identity managementStrong Python and/or PowerShell automation skillsExperience working with REST APIsGood understanding of Azure and AWSStrong awareness of security and compliance controlsDesirable Experience working in large enterprise environmentsExperience designing highly automated infrastructure platformsExperience with cloud-native security and identity solutionsExperience working with multiple certificate authoritiesExperience leading technical workstreams or mentoring other engineersStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsWhat We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who can operate at both technical leadership and hands-on engineering level. You should be comfortable defining the architecture, challenging existing approaches, developing automation solutions and working directly with engineers and stakeholders to deliver the platform. This is a fully remote 6-month contract opportunity for candidates based in Poland.
