Role Description:
As a Network Engineer reporting to the Infrastructure Operations Lead, you'll play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting the Osborne and the Hunter network infrastructure, with a strong focus on day-to-day operations and continuous improvement.
Core Duties:
Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issuesTroubleshoot and resolve assigned support incidents, outages, and performance degradationConfigure and manage network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access pointsPerform network upgrades, patches, and changes in line with change management processesIdentify opportunities to enhance systems and processes, driving efficiency and technological innovationAssist in specifying, designing and implementing aspects of the WAN and LAN networks that meet or exceed industry standard best practicesProvide network consultancy and assistance to customers, in the design, set to work & troubleshooting of networks & customer deliverablesImplement and maintain network security controls including segmentation, access controls, firewall rules, policies, and best practicesMaintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and asset records
Essential Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience + vendor certifications) preferredCritical thinking and analytical skills demonstrated through decision-making and problem solvingSolid troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve network and connectivity issuesSolid foundational knowledge of networking protocols and functionsAbility to contribute to and thrive in a collaborative team environmentExcellent communication skills in both verbal and written formsExperience with WAN, LAN, VPN and Wireless technologiesExperience with various firewalls, knowledge of Palo Alto Firewalls is desirableExperience with Citrix NetScalers, VMWare NSX is desirableExperience with SDN, Cisco ACI, Cisco WLC, Cisco ISE and Cisco DNA Centre are desirableRelevant certifications (e.g.
CCNA, Network+, or equivalent experience) desirable but not essentialDefence security clearance (NV1) or eligibility to obtainEligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
