Overview:
Our client is looking for an IT Network & Cloud Infrastructure Administrator (Microsoft Azure) to manage, maintain, and optimise the organisation’s IT network and infrastructure.
The role focuses on Microsoft Azure, SD-WAN, LAN, VPN, Intune, and IT security, while providing Tier 2/3 technical support and coordinating with vendors to resolve infrastructure issues.
The ideal candidate is highly independent, organised, and adaptable, with the flexibility to respond to critical infrastructure needs outside standard working hours when required.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Note: Flexibility to work overtime or outside regular hours when required for operational or infrastructure needs
Responsibilities:
Azure & Cloud Administration
Manage, monitor, and optimise Microsoft Azure resources and servicesSupport the design and implementation of scalable Azure solutions aligned with business requirementsMonitor Azure performance, usage, and costs and identify opportunities for optimisationEnsure Azure environments comply with security, governance, and internal IT policiesRespond to user and system issues within agreed service levels
Network & Infrastructure Management
Administer and maintain Azure, VPN, SD-WAN, LAN, and network infrastructureMonitor network performance and traffic and proactively identify and resolve issuesSupport VPN, firewall, routing, switching, and connectivity configurationsManage and maintain hybrid infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environmentsWork with vendors and service providers to troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and infrastructure issuesSupport infrastructure upgrades, improvements, and technology initiatives
General IT Administration & Support
Manage IT service tickets and ensure timely resolution of technical issuesProvide Tier 2/3 technical support to internal users and escalate issues when requiredPerform system updates, patching, backups, and disaster recovery activitiesMonitor system health and proactively address performance or reliability issuesSupport endpoint and device management, including Microsoft IntuneParticipate in after-hours or out-of-shift support when required for critical incidents, maintenance, or infrastructure changes
Security & Compliance
Monitor and maintain IT security controls across network and infrastructure environmentsConduct vulnerability assessments, audits, and remediation activitiesEnsure infrastructure aligns with internal security policies, data protection requirements, and relevant compliance standardsIdentify potential security risks and recommend appropriate improvements
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate documentation of network architecture, configurations, systems, and proceduresPrepare reports relating to system performance, incidents, infrastructure, and complianceIdentify opportunities to improve infrastructure reliability, security, and efficiencyProvide recommendations for infrastructure upgrades and improvements
Requirements:
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in IT systems or infrastructure administrationProven experience administering Microsoft Azure environmentsExperience managing SD-WAN and LAN infrastructure within a multi-site environmentProficiency in network troubleshooting, VPNs, firewalls, routing, and switchingFamiliarity with Microsoft Intune and endpoint management is highly regardedBackground in working with external IT vendors and service providersExcellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skillsStrong documentation and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to urgent technical issues
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including administration, architecture, security, and cost managementStrong knowledge of Cisco Meraki switching, architecture, and managementSolid understanding of SD-WAN, LAN, VPN, firewall, routing, and network technologiesUnderstanding of hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructureStrong knowledge of IT security principles and compliance requirements
