Senior Java Software Engineer

Job Title: Senior Java Developer Location: Krakow Who we are This role is working within the Market Securities Services MSS division where technology is central to all aspects of our business for example electronic trading in the financial marketsRiver is the first ever built Cash FX primary trading systemPTS We are a 170 strong global team located across New York Toronto Hong Kong Guangzhou London and Krakow The team covers a wide area of functions includingRisk delivers client facing applications including risk managmentTrade Workflow is responsible for trade booking and lifecycleCompute focuses on valuationsRODS manages trade storage What we do We are building an inhouse platform to support all primary functions for FX Trading pricing booking routing risk management and valuations which is replacing a vendor platform Our pods adhere to the DevOps ethos and work closely with the FX traders Everyone in the team develops and releases components of the system into production So far we have performed 15000 releases to build out our PTS and have demised the vendor platform in all trading sitesAll our teams work in pods of 48 developers and work closely with the businessWe are not order takers but responsible for the service we are developingAll our teams strive to do continuous delivery we do small incremental releases and follow agile practicesWe are empowered to use technology and tools to automate as much as possibleWe build small services and strive to break up monolithic systems where we have themEach small team is responsible for everything from the requirements to the development to running it in Production If we build it we own itCreating usable efficient and elegant Java codeBuilding a micro service based architectureMonitoring production and keeping it stableForeign Exchange business requirements Your daily tasks You and your teammates are responsible for all aspects of delivering software to usersAutomating testing and deployment of small and frequent releasesSpeaking to the product owner and business on features and requirementsProduction availability of your service if you build a service you own the serviceSkills experience we require: Must be passionate about technology and demonstrate their aptitude for exploring learning and building technologyBe able to work well in a team and be an excellent communicatorBe interested in solving problems and flexible and adaptable in doing soExperience with Java 17 Concurrency data structures lockfree wait free code low latency lambdasFamiliar with TDD continuous integration jUnit continuous deployment and testingExperience with REST and messaging technologiesUnderstanding of DevOps practicesBe able to use AI Coding AssistantOptionalnice to haveFX business knowledge an advantage but focus is on technical skillsDemonstrates a passion for software development outside of work through involvement in open source working groups etc Skills Mandatory Skills : Selenium Testing Automation
