Job Description ALTEN is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team, supporting an exciting and technically challenging engineering programme. This opportunity would suit a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong Siemens NX experience who is confident developing detailed 3D designs and engineering drawings within a complex engineering environment. Location: Bicester On Site: Onsite Clearance: ClearableExperience Level: Mid Level Key Responsibilities: Develop and modify 3D mechanical designs using Siemens NXProduce accurate 2D engineering drawings to support manufacture and assemblyDesign mechanical components and assemblies in line with engineering requirementsWork closely with engineering, manufacturing and technical teams throughout the design lifecycleReview existing designs and implement engineering modifications where requiredEnsure designs meet relevant quality, manufacturing and technical standardsSupport design reviews and resolve technical issues during development Qualifications Required Skills: 3+ years’ experience within Mechanical Design, CAD Engineering or a similar roleExperience within the Aerospace IndustryStrong hands-on experience with Siemens NX – mandatoryExperience creating detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawingsGood understanding of mechanical engineering and design principlesExperience working with mechanical components and assembliesAbility to interpret technical specifications and engineering requirements Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience. Desirable Skills: Experience within a highly regulated or complex engineering environmentKnowledge of GD&T and engineering tolerancingUnderstanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufactureExperience supporting designs from concept through to production Additional Information Why join us?
