For our client, a famous company in the semiconductor sector, we are looking for a Production Engineer – NPI & PCB Qualification (m/f/d) in Böblingen.
Description:
Work in the New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineering team supporting the qualification and introduction of new Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) for our client's semiconductor test systems.Take ownership of PCB qualification activities, including planning, execution, tracking, and documentation of qualification status throughout the product introduction process.Coordinate and track qualification activities using JIRA, ensuring transparent status reporting, issue tracking, and timely follow-up of open actions.Perform hands-on assembly, disassembly, modification, and inspection of electronic hardware and test systems to support qualification and validation activities.Execute and evaluate automated hardware qualification tests using existing Advantest test platforms and infrastructure.Work closely with design, NPI, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure successful PCB releases into production.Communicate regularly with suppliers and contract manufacturers to monitor qualification progress, material availability, manufacturing readiness, and issue resolution.Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to PCB qualification findings, test results, and manufacturing issues.Contribute to continuous improvement of qualification processes, test methodologies, and qualification tracking.Work in an international environment with internal stakeholders and external suppliers across the global supply chain.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical qualification.Practical hands-on experience in assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting, and handling of complex electronic systems and printed circuit assemblies.Experience in PCB and electronic assembly qualification activities, preferably within a manufacturing or New Product Introduction environment.Experience using JIRA as a user for task management, issue tracking, status reporting, and project collaboration is required.Good understanding of electronic hardware, PCB technologies, and manufacturing processes for electronic assemblies.Ability to execute structured qualification programs, document results, and coordinate follow-up actions.Analytical problem-solving skills and ability to evaluate test results and identify technical issues.Strong ownership, self-driven working style, and attention to detail.Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions and with external suppliers.Experience in regular communication with suppliers regarding qualification status, material availability, and manufacturing readiness is considered a strong advantage.Fluent communication skills in English; German language skills are beneficial.Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10%).
