Location: New York City, NY Experience: 4–5 years Employment Type: Full-time Compensation: $160,000 – $210,000 per year + bonus/equity About the Role We are looking for an experienced AWS Developer to join our engineering team in New York City. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based applications and infrastructure on Amazon Web Services. You will work closely with software engineers, DevOps teams, architects, and product stakeholders to build reliable, scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions. This role requires strong AWS expertise combined with solid software engineering fundamentals and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize production systems. Requirements Key Responsibilities Design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable applications and services on AWS. Build and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS best practices. Develop serverless and cloud-native solutions using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, and CloudWatch. Design and implement secure, highly available, and fault-tolerant AWS architectures. Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment. Monitor application and infrastructure performance and troubleshoot production issues. Implement cloud security, IAM policies, networking, encryption, and access controls. Optimize AWS environments for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost. Collaborate with backend, frontend, DevOps, security, and product teams. Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and code reviews. Develop automation scripts and tools to improve engineering and operational efficiency. Maintain technical documentation and contribute to engineering standards and best practices. Must-Have Skills 4–5 years of professional software development or cloud engineering experience. Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services. Proficiency with services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, SQS/SNS, and API Gateway. Strong programming experience in Python, Java, JavaScript/Node.js, Go, or similar languages. Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Infrastructure as Code. Strong understanding of AWS networking, security, IAM, and cloud architecture. Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and microservices. Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS. Experience building or managing CI/CD pipelines. Strong understanding of databases, distributed systems, and cloud application architecture. Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills. Nice-to-Have Skills AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Developer, or DevOps Engineer. Experience with EKS, ECS, Fargate, Step Functions, EventBridge, and CloudFront. Experience implementing observability using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools. Knowledge of serverless architecture and event-driven systems. Experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platforms. Familiarity with AWS cost optimization and FinOps practices. Experience working in high-growth startups or large-scale production environments. Exposure to AI/ML workloads running on AWS.
