About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps / Cloud Engineer specializing in Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-availability cloud services within our STACKIT Kubernetes environment. Your expertise will contribute to the development of scalable, secure, and efficient microservices architectures that support our ServiceNow Shared Services, including AI Search, Machine Learning, and Document Intelligence applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to automate infrastructure provisioning, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and ensure the stability and security of our cloud operations. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a successful degree in (Business) Informatics or a comparable technical IT qualification, complemented by extensive professional experience in cloud-native and Kubernetes environments. You should have proven expertise in managing complex Kubernetes deployments within enterprise scenarios and a strong understanding of microservices architecture, especially in relation to traditional, database-driven enterprise applications like ServiceNow. Practical experience in automating infrastructure using tools such as Terraform and Ansible, along with building modern CI/CD pipelines (preferably with GitLab), is essential. You should embody a DevOps mindset, working comfortably within agile methodologies and understanding the requirements of secure cloud hosting operations. Excellent communication skills in German and good command of English are necessary, along with a quick grasp of new concepts and a solutions-oriented, autonomous working style. Responsibilities Design and operate highly available services on the STACKIT Kubernetes cluster, serving as a performant runtime environment for our ServiceNow Shared Services, including AI Search, Machine Learning, and Document Intelligence.Develop and optimize our CI/CD landscape, primarily based on GitLab, and drive automation of infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Helm for container workloads.Ensure seamless and high-performance network integration between Kubernetes-based microservices, Java-based ServiceNow application nodes, and load balancer clusters.Implement auto-scaling strategies and comprehensive observability concepts to maintain our Sovereign Cloud SLAs, ensuring maximum stability and availability.Strengthen the security posture of our clusters through security hardening measures like Pod Security Policies and Network Policies, while ensuring compliance with standards such as BSI C5, DORA, and other relevant regulations.Translate technical requirements into standardized, scalable cloud architectures as part of an agile team, fostering continuous improvement and innovation.
