About the Role We're looking for a M365/SharePoint Engineer to join the Engineering practice at H+S. You'll own the Microsoft platform our clients run on: SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, .NET and the Azure and Entra services underneath them, built so the platform is configured, secured and governed rather than accumulated. You'll take solutions from requirement to live inside a client's tenant, decide whether they should be configured, built on Power Platform or written in code, and answer for how they behave once people are using them. You'll work across Advisory, Government, Private Sector and Managed Services engagements, without day-to-day direction. What You'll Do Design and build platform solutions end to end: intranets, document and records management, collaboration spaces, Power Platform applications and Microsoft Graph integrationsChoose between out-of-the-box configuration, Power Platform and custom SPFx or .NET, and document whyDevelop with SPFx, .NET and Azure Functions, tested, reviewed and deployed through pipelines rather than by handDesign information architecture and permissions with Content Designers and the clientPlan and run content migrations from file shares, legacy SharePoint and other platforms, including the permissionsBuild provisioning templates, PnP and PowerShell scripts so tenant configuration can be rebuilt rather than rememberedBuild in security and compliance: least privilege, external sharing, sensitivity labels, retention, and Essential Eight and ISM controls for government clientsGet permissions and content ready for Copilot, and flag early when they are notHand over cleanly with admin guides, site owner training and handover to Managed Services or client ITReview and guide the work of Associate Consultants on your engagements What We're Looking For Microsoft 365 and development Demonstrated experience designing and building Microsoft 365 solutions end to endWorking depth in SharePoint Online, Teams and Power PlatformDevelopment in C#/.NET or TypeScript and SPFx, and experience with Microsoft GraphPowerShell and PnP for provisioning and administrationExperience of a content migration, including the permissionsQualifications in IT, computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience Security and governance A working understanding of Entra ID, permission models and external sharingFamiliarity with Microsoft Purview: sensitivity labels, retention and data loss prevention Ways of working Able to hold a client relationship without a more senior engineer in the room, including when the client disagrees with youClear communication: you can explain a technical position so that non-technical people act on itAI-assisted tooling as a normal part of how you work, with judgement about where its output is not good enoughComfortable estimating your work and flagging scope changes before the effort is spent Eligibility Must be an Australian Citizen with an existing Australian Government Baseline security clearance, or higher Nice to Have Microsoft associate-level certificationsAzure experienceExperience working on Government projects and/or in government environmentsCopilot deployments Why H+S Work across a varied portfolio of government, private sector and not-for-profit clientsCollaborate with Engineers, Data Engineers and designers in a shared capability practice
