Full Stack Engineer — React + Django
Remote | Full-Time
Spotter Labs is a remote, product-focused startup building AI- and algorithm-driven systems, and we’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer who can move comfortably between React frontends and Django backends.
You’ll own features end-to-end — from designing the data model and building the API to creating the frontend experience that brings everything together.
You’ll work with a small distributed team across multiple countries, ship quickly, and iterate based on real product feedback.

What You’ll Do
- Build and ship complete features across the React frontend and Django backend.
- Develop responsive web applications using React and Material UI (MUI).
- Design backend services and APIs using Python + Django.
- Build clean, responsive interfaces that connect effectively with backend services.
- Implement algorithmic and AI-driven logic such as scoring, ranking, and decision systems.
- Design data models and application logic for new product features.
- Write pragmatic, production-ready code that can be shipped and iterated quickly.
- Work closely with the team to take features from idea to production.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong proficiency with React.
- Strong experience with Python and Django.
- Experience with Material UI (MUI).
- Comfortable designing and building REST APIs.
- Experience working with non-trivial business logic, algorithms, or decision systems.
- Strong attention to detail, especially around UI alignment, spacing, responsiveness, and overall product experience.
- Good understanding of application performance, database queries, caching, and common performance bottlenecks.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Django REST Framework (DRF).
- Comfortable developing with AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar assistants.
- Experience shipping complete products through startups, personal projects, or hackathons.
- Background working with algorithms or data-heavy systems.
- Experience with GCP, Redis, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Experience building mobile applications with React Native.
