We're now looking for a Senior RF Design Engineer to join our Engineering team and help shape the next generation of communication and safety products used across Australia and beyond. Job Description Why this role is different This isn't a role where you'll be designing components that disappear into someone else's product. At GME, you'll work on complete RF design systems that make it into the hands of customers and are relied upon in real-world, mission-critical situations. You'll Have The Opportunity To Design and develop RF solutions for market-leading communication and emergency beacon products Influence technical direction and product architecture Work closely with electronics, mechanical, firmware and manufacturing teams Take products from concept through to production Validate designs using dedicated RF test and development facilities Contribute to products that have a genuine impact on safety and rescue outcomes If you enjoy solving challenging RF problems and want to see your designs make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Be Doing As a Senior RF Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design, development and optimisation of RF circuits and systems for new and existing GME products. You'll Design RF circuits including amplifiers, filters, mixers and oscillators Develop, simulate, analyse and optimise RF system performance Prototype, test and validate RF designs using industry-standard test equipment Lead RF design activities across the product development lifecycle Investigate complex technical issues and implement robust engineering solutions Support schematic capture, component selection and PCB design reviews Ensure designs meet regulatory, performance and manufacturing requirements Work closely with manufacturing teams to transition products successfully into production Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver projects on time and to specification Contribute to technical documentation, design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives Desired Skills And Experience What we're looking for We're interested in engineers who are passionate about RF design and enjoy creating products that solve real-world problems. Essential You'll bring: Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or a related discipline Extensive experience designing and developing RF circuits and systems Strong knowledge of RF amplifiers, filters, oscillators, mixers and associated design principles Experience with RF simulation and design tools such as ADS, LTspice and Altium Hands-on experience with PCB design, prototyping, bring-up and validation Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills Experience using RF test equipment including spectrum analysers, signal generators, oscilloscopes and power meters Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government NV1 Security Clearance Highly regarded Experience developing communication or radio-based products Knowledge of analogue, digital and mixed-signal circuit design Experience with radio modulation techniques including AM, FM and digital radio technologies Experience working within ISO9001, AS9100 or similar quality environments Experience supporting products from concept through manufacturing and production release Join us At GME, engineering sits at the heart of what we do.
