Infrastructure Engineer - Automation and Tooling

Meta is looking for a talented, highly motivated engineer to join the Production Services Automation Team () under the Infra Data Center (Infra Data Center) org at Meta. The Infra Data Center org is responsible for deploying and supporting one of the world’s largest, most complex, and robust networks. Automation is the key to meeting our demands; you will be responsible for conceiving, developing, and launching tools to support the data center deployment, maintenance, and scaling of data center and edge infrastructure. Infrastructure Engineer, Automation & Tooling Responsibilities: Conceptualize, build, and maintain tools to support network deployment and operationProactively find gaps that impact multiple teams/organizations, come up with the execution plan, and drive the project and influence other teams to reach thereDevelop automated methods to detect, mitigate and remediate network eventsHelp make the people around you move faster by identifying issues slowing the team down and driving changes to address themLead/mentor other folks - Work with other team members from partner teams, understand their challenges, help them find a solution and enable them to code to address itHelp with recruiting and onboarding of new members to the team. Support them through mentoring and help ensure their effective ramp-up within the teamDrive requirements with vendors and third parties to align our internal tooling efforts Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years of experience building software for network infrastructureBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experienceExperience with programming languages (Python, Perl, or C++)Knowledge of Linux OS/networkingKnowledge with SQL databasesExperience with network devices (routers, switches, load balancers) and knowledge of network routing protocolsExperience with design and implementation of network operation systemExperience debugging issues within custom codeKnowledge of technology-agnostic approach to engineeringBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologiesExperience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologiesKnowledge of Django, PHP, Shell About Meta: Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
