About The Role You will join the Seerist software engineering team to build and evolve the core of our intelligence platform: the TypeScript applications, APIs, and search experiences that analysts and customers rely on every day, and the AI-driven features that are changing how they work. We are looking for a creative engineer who values simplicity. You look for the plain solution to a hard problem, you leave the codebase easier to understand than you found it, and you work within an established architecture instead of adding complexity for its own sake. You will own work end to end, from scoping and implementation through rollout and production support. You will also help us tell the AI advances that matter from the hype, because you build with them. Technical Skills Simplicity & Creativity: Favors the simplest design that solves the problem; brings creative thinking to product and technical problems and can explain the tradeoffs behind a choice TypeScript: Strong experience across frontend and backend systems Frontend: Vue 3 / Nuxt experience, ideally with large production applications Backend & APIs: Node.js backend/API development; experience designing and maintaining REST APIs and OpenAPI contracts; AdonisJS familiarity is a plus Search & Geospatial: Experience with search-heavy applications, geospatial data, or Elasticsearch/OpenSearch is a plus Engineering Discipline: Strong testing and code-review discipline; able to work within an established architecture rather than introducing unnecessary complexity Ownership: Comfortable owning work end-to-end, including scoping, implementation, rollout, and production support Building with LLMs: Hands-on experience building with LLMs, tool use, agents, structured outputs, retrieval, and multi-step workflows Agent Systems: Familiar with agent orchestration, tool calling, memory/context strategies, evals, guardrails, and failure handling AI Judgment: Keeps a strong pulse on emerging AI models, agentic patterns, and tooling; evaluates new model classes and frameworks on real tradeoffs in quality, latency, cost, reliability, and maintainability; regularly experiments and can separate useful advances from hype Shipped Work: Portfolio or meaningful examples of shipped production work What Seerist Offers: An opportunity to be a part of a fast-moving organization with cutting edge technologyA culture that is dynamic, diverse, trust-centered, and open to bold ideasCompetitive salary, bonus plan, 401(k) matching, and long-term incentivesComprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and life plansA flexible and fun work environment that values work-life balanceHybrid position with 3 days in Reston office per week and flexibility to work onsite as the program requiresUnlimited PTOUp to 16 Weeks Paid Parental LeaveTuition ReimbursementProfessional Development Stipend Based in the greater Washington, DC metro area, in our Reston office three days per week, with the flexibility to work on site as the program requires Seerist is an equal opportunity employer.
