Position Description
We are seeking an experienced ACI MTS Support and Configuration/Development Resource to provide expert level (L3) production support, configuration, and technical development for enterprise payment processing systems built on the ACI Money Transfer System (MTS) platform.
The ideal candidate combines deep platform knowledge with strong analytical rigor to resolve complex, high impact production incidents, drive root cause analysis, and support the ongoing stability, configuration, and modernization of payment systems operating in high volume, real time and batch environments.
This role sits at the intersection of production support and platform engineering — requiring both reactive incident resolution skills and proactive configuration/development capability to strengthen system reliability over time.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Production Support & Incident Management (L3)
Act as the senior technical escalation point for high-priority incidents affecting ACI MTS payment processing systems.
Perform deep investigation of application logs, transaction data, and system behavior to diagnose issues across application, configuration, and integration layers.
Conduct thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production incidents and document findings for stakeholders and audit purposes.
Drive timely resolution of critical incidents to minimize business impact and ensure continuity of payment operations.
Work effectively with limited or incomplete data to isolate root causes under time sensitive, high-pressure conditions.
Configuration & Development
Configure, customize, and maintain ACI MTS components to support new payment flows, product changes, and regulatory requirements.
Support development and enhancement of interfaces, rules, and parameters within the MTS platform.
Partner with development teams to implement fixes, patches, and configuration changes arising from RCA findings.
Contribute to design and implementation of long-term fixes that reduce recurrence of known issues.
Release & Change Management
Support release validation activities, including pre and post deployment testing and monitoring.
Validate configuration changes and code deployments in test and production environments to ensure system integrity.
Monitor system health and transaction flows following releases to proactively identify anomalies.
Cross Functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with Development, QA, Infrastructure, and Business teams to triage and resolve issues end to end.
Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leadership during major incidents.
Participate in incident review/postmortem sessions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Continuous Improvement & Modernization
Identify recurring issues and systemic risks; propose and help implement long term structural improvements.
Contribute to payment system modernization initiatives, including architecture reviews and platform upgrade planning.
Stay current on ACI MTS platform updates, industry payment standards, and emerging technologies in the payments domain.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
Proven hands on experience supporting and configuring the ACI MTS (Money Transfer System) platform in a production banking/payments environment.
Strong background in L3 production support for enterprise payment processing systems.
Demonstrated expertise in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for complex, multi layered production incidents.
Experience analyzing transaction flows, application logs, and system interactions across integrated platforms.
Working knowledge of high volume, real time and batch payment processing systems.
Ability to troubleshoot issues spanning application, configuration, and integration layers.
Experience supporting release validation and post deployment monitoring.
Strong analytical and structured problem solving skills, including the ability to work effectively with limited data.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues for non technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure in high stakes, time critical production environments.
Preferred / Nice to Have:
Exposure to payment system architecture design and modernization projects.
Familiarity with related payment standards (e.g., ISO 8583, ISO 20022, SWIFT).
Experience with monitoring/observability tooling for payment platforms.
Prior experience mentoring or leading junior support engineers.
Understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations in cross border/domestic payments.
