R&D Product Development Specialist Russell Tobin is partnering with a multinational food and beverage manufacturing company to identify an R&D Product Development Specialist for an opportunity near Glenview, IL (Hybrid). Important Details: 12-month contract with the possibility of extensionGlenview, IL - HybridMonday-Friday (40 hours/week)Pay range: $65-70/HR, depending on experienceJob Description: The client is seeking an R&D Product Development professional with 3-4+ years of hands-on food product development experience to support innovation and renovation projects. The role focuses on benchtop formulation, prototype development, lab testing, sensory/shelf-life studies, and commercialization of food products, particularly condiments and sauces. Responsibilities:Conduct benchtop experiments, formulation, prototype development, and analytical testing.Support product innovation, renovation, costing, shelf-life, and commercialization activities.Develop recipes, labels, technical documentation, and support factory trials/initial production.Collaborate with Packaging, Quality, Operations, Marketing, Sales, and Project Management teams.Manage multiple projects independently and apply scientific principles to solve technical challenges.Must have qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Meat Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field. 3-4+ years of real-world product development experience. Strong benchtop formulation and food product development skills. Experience with lab experiments, prototype development, and analytical measurements. Strong communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail. Ability to work onsite Monday-Friday and travel up to 15% to factory locations.
