About the Role We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Engineer to join a high-performing data platform team responsible for building and enhancing a modern cloud-based analytical environment. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and optimising enterprise-scale data solutions leveraging Snowflake and Microsoft Azure technologies. You will play a critical role in enabling secure, governed, and scalable access to data across the organisation while supporting long-term cloud and data strategy objectives. Working closely with architects, data engineers, security specialists, analysts, and business stakeholders, you will contribute to the design and evolution of a sophisticated enterprise data ecosystem supporting advanced analytical workloads. Key Responsibilities Design and implement integration solutions between Snowflake and Azure-based data platforms.Develop and maintain scalable data ingestion pipelines and data processing frameworks.Build and optimise enterprise data models, schemas, and storage structures within Snowflake.Contribute to data platform architecture design and cloud modernisation initiatives.Implement and manage Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and fine-grained security controls.Support data classification, governance, compliance, and audit requirements.Optimise query performance, storage utilisation, and overall platform efficiency.Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve platform performance and operational issues.Collaborate with business users, analysts, and data scientists to enable secure access to data assets.Produce high-quality technical documentation, architectural designs, and operational procedures. The Successful Candidate You will be a technically strong data engineering professional with proven experience delivering enterprise cloud data solutions in complex environments. Essential Experience 5+ years' experience in data engineering, data platform, or cloud data roles.Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake including schema design, performance tuning, query optimisation, security configuration, and access controls.Extensive experience working within Microsoft Azure environments.Proven capability across Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Blob Storage, and related Azure data services.Advanced SQL development skills across large-scale data environments.Strong understanding of data architecture, governance, and enterprise data management principles.Experience designing and implementing RBAC models and data security frameworks.Knowledge of data classification methodologies and secure data access controls.Experience working within highly regulated enterprise environments.Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and documentation skills. Highly Regarded Python scripting and automation experience.Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.Experience using Terraform, Azure DevOps, or Infrastructure as Code frameworks.Prior experience within banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.Experience supporting large-scale enterprise analytical platforms and cloud transformations.
