Python Backend Developer

A leading financial technology client is seeking a talented engineer to build innovative cloud-native solutions for the investment management sector. The Role Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Python and FastAPI. Build scalable REST APIs for cloud-native financial applications, supporting real-time market data ingestion. Develop backend services and APIs for a greenfield Portfolio Management System. Integrate with Bloomberg and other third-party market data providers. Implement API throttling, rate limiting, caching, and fault-tolerant data ingestion mechanisms. Optimize application performance, cloud resource utilization, and system scalability, deploying on Microsoft Azure. What You'll Need 5+ years of experience in backend software development with strong Python programming skills. Proven experience developing REST APIs using FastAPI or similar Python frameworks. Hands-on experience with Bloomberg API integration. Strong understanding of backend application architecture and distributed systems. Expertise in SQL and PostgreSQL, with experience in designing scalable data models. Cloud development experience, particularly with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
